For the 2027 IFAC Symposium on System Identification (SYSID2027) in Lyon, France, an Open Invited Track is organized on the theme:

Software tools for data-driven modeling, analysis, decision and control

Open Invited Track Code:  tk8rn

The intention of this Open Invited Track is to present and highlight recent contributions to the development of software tools related to system identification problems in its widest sense. This includes identification of complex systems, model analysis, as well as model-based and data-driven decision making, diagnostics and control.
The software contributions can be either in stand alone form, or as app/toolbox in one of the common software environments, and may exploit implementations from machine learning and AI agents.

It is our intention to let the authors present their software in an interactive demonstration session with ample opportunities to interact with participants.

The software tools are expected to be accompanied by either one of the following paper submissions, that describe the main properties of the software tools:

  1. Original 6 page papers intended to be included in the Symposium Proceedings, and submitted as regular conference paper (deadline 2 November 2026).
  2. Original 6 page papers considered as joint conference/journal submission papers (deadline 11 October 2026).
  3. Discussion paper: a short manuscript/abstract of 1-4 pages, that will not be included in the Symposium Proceedings (deadline 15 January 2027).

When submitting a contribution to this Open Invited Track in category a), authors are requested to refer to the Open Invited Track Code: tk8rn

Authors that intend to contribute to this Open Invited Track through a submission in category b) or c) are requested to contact the OIT organizer, Prof. Paul Van den Hof, at p.m.j.vandenhof@tue.nl, for receiving further submission instructions.
